Wow I just got on and ranted on the wrong day! Well not posting that again, once was enough!

How are you all doing? Who wants to keep our name? I still want it I like it and I am used to it but I will go with the flow, so let me know. Ha I'm a poet.

Definately going to get a walk in today and I don't care if it is just a small one. My knees are killing me because I am not moving.

Fellow SBFer's where are you, I miss you all.

    Hi Karen,

I did the same thing. . .I've lost all track of time and space, I guess.

I'm impartial on if we change the name or not. . .but I think we should start the new challenge on Monday morning when we might get the most new folks involved. To new folks reading this, please join us!

I hear you about the "tummy hangover" I've been in scavenge whatever's available mode on strike duty, which has meant I've had to eat wheat because it was the only food. So, another goal for me this weekend is to buy a lunch cooler and small containers and start taking my lunch. It won't be free food, but it won't destroy me either. :grumble:

Also, I have to try to motivate myself more to go to the gym in the dark. It's getting dark here at 4:30 in the afternoon, and when that happens, I go into hibernating bear mode and it's difficult to do anything (except eat and sit on the sofa. . .I seem to be plenty motivated for that). I do have a collection of workout DVDs for just such an occasion, so I'm going to start using those as a plan B.

Oh, my, look. . .a novel.

Today is bikram, water and mental health recuperation from strike duty. I'm working in the headquarters office now, which is a whole different kind of stress (the drawback being there's not an 8 mile walk involved. . . but I'm not having my muscles freeze into a painful contraction, either. . .) I know Mary's on a trip now. . .but where's everyone else?

    Take care of yourselves!:flowerforyou:

Hey! I just joined this month. What are the SBFers?

Wow Vivia you just described my yesterday when you said hibernating bear mode. Everyone was coming and going yesterday and I mostly watched tv in a dark room and ate crappy. I thought I was alone on that one and was a little worried! You know my mind is split into two camps right now. One is screaming at me inside for eating all the junk but the other is softly saying "But doesn't it taste so good" !

Definately pack yourself something good to eat if you have to be on a picket line. No sense in making yourself feel sick eating something you shouldn't. ! I hope you don't have to be on strike for long, it's been awhile now hasn't it?

I expect everyone is just busy or out doing some Christmas shopping. I don't do that on the weekend after Thanksgiving because I simply cannot stand that many people around me all at once. It's too tiring. Take care there girl, talk to you later.

Hey! I just joined this month. What are the SBFers?

It's a challenge/support group. We set individual goals (could be weight loss mini-goals, but mostly exercise or habit-changing goals.) For example, right now I'm trying to stick to my workout plan (which I post every Sunday) and quit eating while watching TV.

We start a new thread every day. . .and check in with each other. We have also taken to posting a little "daily update" on our lives in general, so we feel supported by each other in lots of things. But, we are very open to new members, so come on in and join us. Soon, you'll feel like you have a group of friends you have coffee with every day and talk about your goals and troubles and happy stuff.:flowerforyou:

Oh, I know exactly, Vivia! It is so tough when I get out of work and it's already dark and cold.

I still like the SBF name - it makes me feel kinda like the bionic woman. But if you guys want to change it, I'll come along either way.

Sorry I haven't checked in the past few days. I have exciting news, though - for my "last chance" workout before Thanksgiving, I decided to try and run 5K on the treadmill. AND I DID! I don't think I've every run that far. I was only going 4.5 miles/hour, but I did it.

Thanksgiving was nice, and I even did my pushups. My eating was not fantastic (we made chocolate mousse for dessert... mmmm...) but I didn't make myself ill or anything. I had to go to work on Friday, but it was a super quiet day. I still have to do pushups tonight, and then I need to get some sort of cardio workout in either tonight or tomorrow. We decided we are going to try and make almond roca for friends and family gifts this year - but neither of us have really done it before (and not without parental supervision) so tomorrow is the test run. Hopefully it will turn out well enough that I can take it to work or something and not eat it all!
