Hi
Just a moan really and hopefully a thread that will make me want to go to the gym.
I do 'want' to but my mind and body don't.

I have logged all food for today yesterday and got up this morning and ate a good breakfast for energy.
I then got so tired and (I am treated for depression/possibly Bipolar II) down I lay on the bed and woke up at gone 2pm.

I don't want to be ruled by depression and have tried very very hard all my life not to be but trying to watch my weight with it is sometimes hard.

I sound as though I want a pity party - I do not.

Just some encouragement I suppose.

I've eaten snacks for lunch but enough calories to support a workout and I 'should' get to the gym in an hour or so.
It's just so easy to stop here.

I've put 8 lbs back on and was brave this morning - after waiting three months!! - to change my ticker. My 26 lbs gone seems a long time ago now.

Sorry for the moan.
Amanda

:flowerforyou: Do you have a friend who lives close to you and you guys can become workout buddies? Or how about instead of trying force yourself to go to the gym because by the time you drive there, etc. you lose focus - how about just going for a walk when you are ready or after breakfast or before you lay down - say I have to go for a walk? Not sure if that will help but if you start moving maybe it will help you feel better. Good Luck

    Hi Pen.
    Thank you.
I'm not even dressed yet and it's almost 3pm.
    I hate this.

I'm setting myself a mini goal - get to the gym.
even if I don't go in, I've got there.
Next goal will be to get inside the flippin' place.
then if all I can do is walk or cycle a bit then at least it's something.

    Thank you for everything.

Moan away...we've all experienced something similar. I play a trick with myself...I just get dressed for the gym, get in the car, go to the gym, get on a machine/go to class all the while telling myself that if I find something else that interests me then I don't "have" to go to the gym, but usually the momentum of all those actions has been sticking through class like some sort of zombie :)

This is what I sometimes do.
    It works, doesn't it!

    Will get dressed now.

    I will.

    Thank you everyone.

Something as simple as this is making me feel better about what I can do and not focus on what I think I can't do.

going to find my gym kit.

    Love you all. xx

Just start small on days like that. Do something simple like walk. Or try some kind of exercise at home if you just can't face going out to the Gym. You are still doing something and may find you will feel better and are able to push yourself a little more. The Gym can come a little later. Put on some up beat music and just move! Feel better soon. You can do this!

    Hi Amanda!
I know how hard it is when you get in a rut and just do not have the motivation to push foreward. I agree with the other post, my advice is that it is okay if you do not feel like going to the gym, throw on some sneakers go outside and start walking/jogging or running. Just getting away from your house and breathing some fresh air while getting some exercise will make you feel so much better. If you like music bring some of that along with you. Deep breathing really does help make you feel better and motivated, plus takes alot of stress away. You can do it. Don't be so hard on yourself. You have a great support team here to help you on your journey:)
    Take care,
