I had a couple compliments recently that felt good. Especially because I've been floating around the same 5 pound range for a year even though I have an ultimate goal of another 10 pounds.
1. My wife's cousin was visiting and he asked if I exercised to keep so thin. I told him about my exercise and MFP.
2. I was chatting with an "old guy" in McDonald's and he commented on how thing I was. He asked if I jogged and I told him my knee surgeon recommended I didn't jog. So I use and elliptical, walk, and golf.
I guess I'm pretty happy with my level of success so far and maybe that's why I'm floating around the same weight for the last year or so. It can be done without giving up everything you like to eat and trying to stick to a very strict diet. I regularly eat at Wendy's, McDonald's, and Pizza Hut. I try to watch the portions and eat menu items that are lower in calories, but I still eat french fries sometimes too. I like the grilled chicken sandwich and baked potato at Wendy's.
I think my biggest benefit has come from REGULAR exercise. I'm on the elliptical 6.9 days out of 7. Unless I'm sick, injured, or working long hours I'm on there for 30-90 minutes EVERY DAY. I've gone through periods of doing some other exercises that would fall under strength training, but I'm not fanatical about that. I think being consistent is big. It keeps the metabolism going.
Good luck to all you MFP users.
