Question about weight loss - or rather not...

I work all weekend, going from one house to another looking after old ladies and men.
I work roughly 10 hours per day, yet, despite my being out of the house the best part of the day, I just cannot lose weight at weekends, I actually gain at least 1-2 pounds - or in this weeks instance, I gained 3 pounds!
I just can't work it out, I do great during the week - and I work 9 hours a day weekdays, the only difference is that I go to the gym Mon-Fri.
I want to get to 210lbs by xmas day, I'll be lucky to get to 220 and stay there the way I'm going!

How well are you tracking your calories - especially on those busy weekends. I'm asking this for both reasons - Are you nibbling and thus going over, OR are you not getting in your calories on the weekends becuause you are out and about so much? Also are you taking a bottle of water with you and drinking through out the day, that water does several things including keeping the matabolisim humming along. Provide a few more details about your eating habbits on weekends please.
Last but not least - do not despair, don't worry about a certain number by a certain day, focus instead on what you need to do to get this working and keep working for you.0 -
Hey, the scale can be so fickle! Take your measurements on your waist, hips and bust instead. I did the scale thing for a while, but suddenly it would say I would gain even though I didn't do anything bad w/ my eating or exercise. It was because I was gaining muscle. A tape measure is more forgiving, and more realistic. I take my measurements now, and I am still loosing inches, no matter what the scale says. Don't get discouraged! The hardest part to learn with loosing weight is the consistency and remaining persistent.0

Weekends are hard for me, too. Not because I am working, but because I have more free time and social events.
Try weighing in on Friday and stay off the scale during the week. I am just trying that for the first time this week, because I had a codependent relationship with my scale before now.
I have a job where I am out on the road working with people, too. I actually do a lot better during the week when I am working. I try to bring snacks and water with me for the day. I have safe foods that I can grab on the road if I need a quick meal to eat in the car. I am fortunate because most of my days are less than 10 hours and I work out after work when I can.
Sounds like it is just the scale being difficult.... walk away from it and keep doing what you are doing! You will make it there. :flowerforyou: And let's face it. Deadlines for losing weight are meant to be broken. I had the same 210 goal for Christmas and probably won't make it either. It is what you do after those deadlines that really matters.0 -

I start off with good intensions, I record every since morsel I'm going to eat, then, all day, I'm really good and stick to it, then, after work, I'm exhausted, and don't bother making a meal, I end up either gonig to the chip shop or grabbing the nearest thing to eat :blushing:
I hate weekends, they always kick me in the butt, then for the rest of the week, I'm kicking my butt at the gym - I workout 60-120 mins a day - 5 days a week to make up for it :blushing:0 -

Not sure I can leave the scale alone just yet :noway:
Maybe I need a real big fall out with it before I give up on it ??
I've come this far, I know I can carry on, but I just fee lso down with myself for giving in at weekends
I'd give up working weekends but if I do, I won't be able to give my family the christmas they want.0 -

I tgo to the gym 5 days a week - Mon - Fri between my calls, that's no problem, but the weekends are so hectic at work that I don't get time to go to the gym, plus, I was told before that I should have at least 1 day away from the gym each week, yet, when I don't go to the gym, I eat the wrong things.
As for water, I do carry a bottle of water with me usually, but I tend to forget in the evening when I'm just trying to get finished for the day, I think I ought to change this at the very least, and maybe buy microwave meals for the weekend - so I still eat healthy.0
