does anyone use a juicer? my husband has stage 4 colon cancer and weve been told that using a juicer would really be beneficial for him. any suggestions ?someone bought him a juiceman jr. is this a good one? my husband starts chemo dec 1st. so any help would really be appreciated.

    I think you'll find a juicer is a great idea for your hubby to get in his vitamins etc. I used to do carrot juice all the time, sometimes adding in a slice or two of apple ..YUM

    So many things you can juice...I bet your juicer you just got has a booklet with ideas!

    I passed my juicer on to someone on my local FreeCycle as I tended to no longer use it when I was diagnoised T2....juice is no longer really my friend...to much carb to quickly for me now.

    I think it would be a great thing for you to try for the hubby......I really do....much easier to swallow healthy things than trying to have him take them in and have to digest them more when he's doing chemo etc.

    I can't say I'm familiar with the brand you mentioned but I say.....give it a shot...mine was well built and worked very well...but it probably cost less than $50 when I purchased it 10-15 years ago.

    Feel free to PM me to contact me for juice ideas.... there's alot you can do with protein powder added to the juice as well that may really help him keep his weight up and strength up.

    First of all, I am so sorry to hear your husband is ill. I have not used a juicer, but a neighbor who also had cancer did and it really improved his energy. My tip to you is this...the fruit/veg. can become quite expensive. We found when we explained the situation to our local grocery store and Costco that they gladly gave us blemished or soon to expire produce free or at min. cost. Since you are juicing, how the produce "looks" isn't really important. I hope you find your grocer's as generous as ours were.
