.....with the clothes that you have "shrunk" out of???? And how long do you leave it before you buy new clothes?

Typically the clothes I grow out of I take the to charity shop BUT I thought how cool would it be to have a group where you could pass the clothes up or on. I know from my experience that over the last 10 months I have gone down 4 dress sizes, and it is costing me a fortune at a time when I really don't have a budget for buying new clothes. I knew as I was buying a size 22 or size 20 that I needed to have them, however I was also confident that I wouldn't need them for long, they were kind of "transitional phase I was passing through".... I shopped carefully and didn't spend much money, but I thought what a great idea it would be to pass on my size 20 work trousers or jeans that have been worn for a couple of months down to someone that is also "passing through" a size 20.

As far as buying new clothes, I leave it as long as I can, all of my work trousers I have taken in and I'm now getting to a point where I have to roll over the tops to keep them up, I think they are probably 2 sizes too big, but I just can't bring myself to buy more "transitional" trousers. I have 3 pairs of jeans that are all held up with belts, and the thing with jeans is that I LOVE the ones I have and I don't want to get rid of them :)

That said I'm not really complaining, I am proud of my progress, but its becoming an expensive progress too :) I'm just curious to know how everyone else deals with this???

You could try a store like Plato's closet where you can sell your old clothes and buy other gently used clothes.?

Oh way...I remember...all my big clothes I gave to Good Will or to my church and as far as buying new clothes...like yourself I would wait as long as possible before buying stuff. Considering I use to stretch out a 3 XT, I know fit comfortably in a Large Tall. It is always very exciting to be able to buy off the clearance rack, not that I'm cheap, I'm just saving up for a new bike

A swap shop is a great idea in theory - but the practicalities probably make it tricky - postage, different countries sizing etc.

I gave my not so great stuff to charity shops, but managed to sell some of the good items at a car boot sale recently, where I was raising money for Oxfam.

eBay's not bad, but again, can be a lot of bother for not a lot of money - I use it more to BUY new items, so I've got some great bargains there recently inculding a beige linen Next suit with a Coast corset for £7.50
