Probably stupid question about body fat %/total weight

I did a weigh-in this morning because today marks one month that I've been tracking food again after going off the rails during my honeymoon. I lost two pounds, which I'm pleased about, but I'm kind of confused about my body fat percentage.

In mid-May I had a free health assessment at the gym, during which I found out that I weighed 173 and had a body fat percentage of 38, which worked out to 65.8 pounds of fat.

Today I weighed in at 176.4 (gained some weight during that honeymoon...) and a body fat percentage of 34.6. That works out to 61 pounds of body fat.

My question is - if I lost almost 5 pounds of fat, why does the scale only show a weight loss of 2 pounds? I used a brand-new Ozeri scale (http://www.amazon.ca/Ozeri-Measures-Hydration-Recognition-Technology/dp/B003N4AVKE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313079612&sr=8-1) to determine my body fat percentage. Is the discrepancy just because the scale isn't 100% accurate? I've only been working out consistently for about three weeks and I doubt I gained that much muscle mass because I don't think do enough strength training to bulk up. For the record, I weighed myself in the morning, clothes off, before I ate anything and after going to the bathroom.

I figure this is just due to the scale's margin of error, and I'm not upset about it. I noticed while doing the math and was wondering if anything is off. (Maybe my math? I do suck at it!)

Could be a margin of error, these scales base BF off of electrical current through your body which is hindered/helped by your water retainage. Could be just that or you may be building a bit of muscle making your ratio's different.
