Just so you know, I am dumb as a sack of hammers- I STILL cannot post pics on this site. Anyway, I DO know how to post pics on blogger, so if you want to see my pics, you have to go there.

I'm 5'1 3/4" inches (that 3/4 of an inch COUNTS!!) and I've gone from 160 (pink shirt pic) to 150 (gray shirt pic).
I'd love to hear thoughts- and if you have would like, please follow me on blogger!

It's hard to tell, because of the differences in the pictures taken: Different clothes (with different silhouettes), different zoom distance, etc.
The best way to tell for the "during" photos is to wear the same clothes and take the pictures using a similar method each time. However, I recommend also taking your measurements. Bust, waist, hip, thigh, etc. That way you can see that mathematically, you're losing inches. Hope this helps.0 -
The grey shirt looks a little tighter than the first pics, which could make you appear bigger. 10 pounds is a great start! You have to remember that not everyone loses weight the same. I seem to thin out in my extremeties first (face, hands, lower legs) before I start losing in the mid section. Maybe it would be good to also measure your neck, waist, hips and use that as more of a guide than the scale and pictures.

Hey I checked out the pics, you can see some differences. But don't worry I always feel like when I'm losing weight that I look fatter... I think cause sometimes I lose it in my chest first and also because the fat isn't as tight as it used to be, I feel like it has room to shift around or something. You could be losing a few pounds in different areas instead of just one area to notice a big drastic change. Don't worry it won't last forever and I'm sure everyone who knows you can already see the difference. Whenever I feel that I look fatter, everyone around me can tell that I've lost.0

(just remove the space)

I've lost 23 lbs and I can't tell the difference either. I, too, feel bigger at times. But just like you, I'm not getting discouraged. It will come! Just keep swimming! (:0

It's hard to tell with the differences in the pictures, I wasn't able to see changing in my body until I had loss about 20 pounds. Your feeling great, and have a great attitude just stick with it you will begin to see results soon.0

don't forget, as long as you're working out, you're getting fitter. It'll come around. Also, the different clothes thing. Keep it up!0

To my eye, it appears that you are standing straighter in the first pic, that's going to make a difference on how much your stomach sticks out. That said, as everyone else pointed out, the distance and clothing are different as well. I can see a difference in your arms, though! Perhaps you're like me, I tend to lose my stomach last (grrr).0

keep going you are doing well!!!0

its because of the shirt and the emphasis on the stomach only in the second pics.
In the first pic you are wearing a looser pink shirt...
in the second pic you are wearing a grey (almost white) shirt.
Darker colors make you look thinner. Lighter colors make you look bigger.
If you put emphasis on your stomach, but we are unable to see everything else, that also makes it difficult to judge your size everywhere else.
Hard to explain, but don't give up!!! I'm 4'10" and i always hear about how people our height (short) are supposed to lose 10 pounds and it is supposed to look like 20 pounds....I lost 20 pounds (partially before this site) and could hardly see a difference ^.^
Hope this helps and keep it up!!!0 -
There's all kinds of things to explain it... your first outfit is more flattering for your figure. Your second outfit is more form-fitting, so it is going to show you in a less flattering light.
You're doing great! I don't think you're getting "fatter!" You're working out way too much for that. Take some pictures in the very same outfit and see if there's a difference that way.0 -
I agree that the shirt is tighter in the during pics so it gives the perception that you are bigger. It's hard to evaluate based on the pics. I suggest taking your measurements now and then again every couple weeks and compare your progress that way.0

That gray shirt is not flattering! Throw it away!
J/k! Seriously though, the pink is just a more flattering cut on you, while the gray one doesn't hide anything. Keep up the good work!
Oh, and I have lost 22 pounds and I am just starting to fit into the next smallest pant size. It seems like it takes me a good 20-25 to go down a size.0 -
We all lose weight differently! Me, I lost from the top down and the the bottom up, and still have some hips and lower tummy to lose. You may lose in your legs and hips first, which I cannot see in those pictures. Keep on going, you will lose the weight!
Congrats on 10 pounds gone forever!!!0 -
Thanks for all the tips! I'm going to start taking ALL my progress pics in the same outfit. I've noticed a lot of people take them in the same place too, so I'll try that as well. I think I will also add arm and leg measurements along with my waist, bust, and hips. That way I will have a better estimate of where I'm losing weight.
Thanks again, everyone!0
