Metformin users

i have been taking metformin at night for a few months, I have pcos not diabetic, and upped my dose to mornings as prescribed but have felt sleepy all day to the point I dozed off twice, is this normal?

    I don't think I'd take any advice I got off an internet message board.

    all I can speak from is experience and no it's never made me sleepy.

    just stared taking it today and left my lunch at home and went back for it then after that I still left a set of keys there. I am hoping the airheadness goes away. Not looking forward to the diarehha..:(

    Same here - I take it for PCOS. I have been put back on it last week, and just upped my does to 2 caps a day (take them together at night). I dont think this makes me feel sleepier than usual, and dont recall from the previoustime I was on it either.

    But I would def call your doc and inquire ! Dont go by posts alone....

    ^ Me either. It does make my stomach upset, though.
  • The only side effect I ever had was headaches, and that was when I first started taking Metformin. They have since gone away completely.

    I took metformin once upon a time and don't remember that as a side effect..

    Well! As if anyone would take this as sole medical advice! I might just be having a bad day ? Might try once more but if I am like it tomorrow I am going back to night time only
