I started here 100 days ago today. In April I went for my yearly check up that I haven't done in 5 yrs. Found out I have really high cholesterol. Dr told me she was surprised that I haven't had a heart attack yet. I'm only 30 that was a wake up call. I also have a b-12 deficiency and have to take 2000 mcg a day. A guy I work with told me about this site and his exercise and diet that he was doing so I gave it a try.
My problem with dieting is the cost is usually a lot higher than eating normal and fast food. So I signed up for the website with mobile app. Which is really the only reason I can stick with the tracking. I set my goal weight and a 2 lb a week loss. When I started I would go to the complex gym and walk on the treadmill for a hour a day 4-6 days a week. In 5 weeks I lost 25 lbs then came my second child. Wife had a c section and I haven't been able to work out on the treadmill in 8 weeks. But still managed to lose just keeping close to my calorie goal.
I wouldn't say that I'm on a diet but just calorie counting. I believe I should eat what ever I want as long as I stick to my calorie goal and watching my cholesterol intake. Now through out this last 100 days I can say that I'm more aware of what I eat and I am starting to make better choices along with my calorie goal.
I was hoping to lose 65 lbs in 6 months which is when I need to have my cholesterol rechecked. But 22 lbs is alot for me to lose in less than 2 months now. But I'm ok with that since I'm still on the right track.
Just wanted to get that out there since I never posted in here when I started. Any comments or advise are welcome good or bad I can us some outside input (not from family and close friend.

Congrats on your weight loss...and the new baby! I'm glad you introduced yourself...I've only been here for 10 days but I LOVE it. You are doing great and I bet you'll see a decrease in your bad cholesterol as the weight comes off. Friend me if you'd like to share advice/encouragement, etc. Keep up the good work!0

Since you don't really want to be on a diet, but want to change how you live your life in order to be overall more healthy, you've done a great job! You're now aware of what you eat & how it can affect your health. Now that you've made the step of calorie control, next you slowly add in healthier versions of foods you like. You'll be setting a GREAT example for your kids to live by & they hopefully won't have to go through the same thing in their own lives! Keep up the awesome work!!0
