So I'm on my journey and I've been wanting to do the c25k program but never had the drive to start. My daughter's school is having a 5k run/walk in 5 weeks and while I know there is no way I could run the whole thing I would like to see what I could do. So, it's so hot here I'd like to start it on my treadmill for now. I got the times for the treadmill from the website, but can anyone recommend a speed/pace for the run part starting out.

I just started it also. On the treadmill I use 3 for walking and 5 for jogging.
  • I just started running on the treadmill yesterday as I was always nervous of setting the wrong pace. I did a moderate walk at 3.5 (was still able to walk briskly at 4) so I initially upped it to 4.6 and held on for a few seconds to find my footing/stride. That was a very slight jog and wasn't even winded.

I did 5.0 today since I felt more comfortable and worked up a decent sweat and breathing a bit harder. (I'm 5'1 and 142lbs if that gives you any indication in comparison to what you are, I know shorter people the paces to walk/jog/run are a bit different than those of average height. They have to take less steps!)
