Good Morning! I've been feeling like I'm coming down with a cold for a couple of days. I got my exercise in yesterday, but today I passed on my spin class this morning and just did my 15 minute warmup on the treadmill and half an hour of weights. I do repition with light weights, so no heavy lifting. So my goals for today in order to hold off this cold:

Drink lots of water.
Keep it simple.
Stick to lower calories today since I don't have my usual spin calories.

Any other food for thought for not letting this cold get a hold of me?

Have a great day!:flowerforyou:

Hi bobbie3223. I have always found that to take a hot lemon and honey drink :drinker: to bed at night and sweat it out is the best thing.

    Just put

1 Tablespoon of Honey in a mug add
1 Tablespoon of Lemon juice (freshly squeezed if possible) and top up with boiling water. If you feel like it add a teaspoon of good Whisky or Brandy too. Stir very well.
I normally take one or two paracetamol with it and drink the mixture as hot as possible IN BED, you will find that during the night your body will break out into an awful sweat but DON'T throw the covers off keep them on and sweat it out.
The sweating is your bodies way of raising your tempreature so high that the cold virus is killed: explode: you should feel much better in the morning you can do the same again the next night if the cold symptoms have not gone completely.

    Good Luck

My plans yesterday went to pot. I won't be getting much done today either. I didn't feel well yesterday and I think I need to rest today. My in laws are coming so they can see Alex on the horse tomorrow. I'm out of a car right now so I needed them to come to take me anyway.
    Today:
    drink water
maybe get my push ups in if I feel up to it.
    rest
    straighten up a little
deal with a by who doesn't seem too happy this morning
I hope I can get a walk in over the next couple of days. Things just don't seem to be working out right around here when it comes to exercise. I ate horrible yesterday too. I did learn that I really don't like ice cream as much as I thought I did. It wasn't worth the cals. I will do better today I think. Have a good Tuesday!

i didn't stick to my calories yesterday :grumble:

And today it's going to be harder since I need a rest day from working out!

So today is all about sticking to the calories and drinking water!
Hopefully I can get some cleaning done too

    Ugh. . .

I think I officially sort of have a cold. I've had a sinus headache for almost a week now.

But, I'm sticking with the plan today:

pack my lunch. pack my workout shoes (I may just wear my gym clothes to work) and try to get in some light cardio and upper body work at the gym this afternoon. Then, sit in the steam room to alleviate some congestion. I noticed that yesterday, I felt better after I worked out, so I'm going to try and remember that when I get a raging case of "don't wannas" on the way home.

Also, vits and water and extra vit. C.

    Take care of yourselves!:flowerforyou:

So yesterday I suffered from an insane migraine ALL day! I just laid on the couch all night and didn't move. So I've decided to do yesterdays set of workouts today, instead of the Yoga Flex I have scheduled. I awoke in a freezing house this morning, too because we ran out of fuel overnight. Whoops! :grumble:

So anyway, today is eating clean, doing my workouts before the bf gets home from work, and getting my high spirits back!

I found the thread! Sorry to hear people are coming down with colds - I'm just getting over mine. I did a ton of pushups yesterday, along with aerobics class and a walk. Today, just a walk - and project time. In fact, I need to close this MFP window so I can get to it!

Vitamin C and Zinc for everyone... :flowerforyou:

So apparently, packing the workout gear is the way to go for now.

The lugging it around all day is good incentive to use it. (it's amazing how much weight just a sports bra and a pair of shoes adds. . .)

I managed 30 minutes of cardio and a light upper body workout. I did a broken-up workout of 10 minutes cardio, followed by a super set (chest and back) then 10 minutes of cardio followed by bicep/tricep superset and then 10 more minutes cardio. I burned what I usually burn in an hour in 45 minutes, so that's cool.:glasses:

The cold seems to be at bay for now. . .I hope.:flowerforyou:
