What do all of you count as your exercise calories?? house cleaning, yard work, hobbies....

I was just wondering....

I have spent most of the day cleaning but it seems like cheating to log the time as exercise....

The only time I've counted cleaning was heavy duty spring cleaning type sweat it out stuff. Everyday laundry, vacuuming is just a normal daily activity to me and I don't count it.

Mostly I only count specific exercise - 20 minute video, walking, etc....
  • I generally count anything that takes more than 15 minutes, Isn't something I would normally do in my day-to-day life, and that I know burns over 50 calories.
I do count my work as excersize though as once a week that is four hours of cleaning, which burns a fair amount

I only count cleaning if I'm doing the whole house in one day kind of thing and I break a sweat...even then I only count it as "light" since I wouldn't have worked as hard as if I had been doing it all week and in that case it wouldn't have been counted at all...

I only count it if I eat too much that day  Or if I wanna eat more  Just kidding     .....I count it if its more than 15 minutes worth of cleaning and it involves vacuuming, running up and down stairs putting things away, and I'm actually moving around cleaning.......I don't count sitting on the couch folding clothes or standing at the sink doing dishes.:flowerforyou:

Oh! And I always put it in as light/moderate:bigsmile:
  • I only count the activities that I actually set out to do for exercise purposes, to include cardio kickboxing, dirtbike trail riding, intense bicycling, Jazzercise, lifting free weights, and situps.

I only include 'exercise calories' if they are outside my usual daily activity - housework is something I do daily, so therefore don't log it.
I do log the gym - even though I go 5 days a week, because I change my workout on a daily basis:flowerforyou:
