How bout bringing along some dehydrated or dried fruit (without added sugar)? Some of them taste like gummies.

Licorice can be a better choice, Mahybe you could get in some extra exercise before you go so you can splurge a bit?
  • hard candies tend to be less calories than chocolate. you can suck on them so they last longer and you eat fewer.

skinny cow or licorice - both of which have already been mentioned. You can also find "no sugar added" candies and chocolates. (That's what I do when I have a peanut butter cup craving that won't subside.)

I've started taking apple slices and shelled edamame to the movies.

Unbuttered/unsalted popcorn is actually SOO healthy!

OK - not candy. My favorite movie snack - Cracker Jack. The individual boxes are only 130 calories.

Lifesavers & Jolly Ranchers- at least they last awhile (boring I know)
  • Sneak in skinny cow candy its the best and sooooo good!!!!

sure, but it tastes like cardboard. there is NO healthy popcorn at the movie theater.

as far as candy, buy some chocolate with a high % of cacao. it has calories, but is actually healthy for you.

Go to the dollar store before the movie and get a single serving candy bar or something that you want. If you don't treat yourself once in a while you're going to binge eventually. Just keep it in moderation, and make sure you're consuming the serving size. This is my philosophy, and experience.

the other thing you could do is "just say no" to the concession line and to the candy. eat something healthy 30 minutes before going to the theater. drink at least 8 ounces of water with that meal...and drink another glass of water on your way to the theater. for good measure, bring one more glass of water into the theater.

I'm on board with the idea that you have to treat yourself on occasion...but simply going to the theater shouldn't be a special occasion.
