Yesterday during Spin class while doing jumps, my left pinky went numb and felt a slight pressure on the left side of my neck. There's slight pressure that is still there this morning and my left pinky feel's tingly. After this happenend I also had trouble controlling my breathing and today I still feel dizzy. At first I thought maybe I was dehydrated but I know I took in at least 90oz of water yesterday...Any suggestions what I might have done? Anyone taken Spin class had this happen before?

I do spin class regularly. The first thing that comes to mind is maybe a clogged artery? I would see a doctor just to be on the safe side. That would freak me out. Hope you find the answers you are looking for. Good luck to you! :)

Sounds like your posture was incorrect and you pinched a nerve in your neck or upper back. Do you have a chiropractor?
  • I regularly do Spin classes approx 3 times a week and I also drive a lot as I am an area sales rep.
I recently began to get tingly feelings in my fingers which then lead them to being numb, which my doctor advised is a problem with a tightening of the wrist due to constant positioning of them which put pressure on the nerves.

Please do not be scared of spin, and get your instructor to check your position of posture, ie seat height and distance away from handles, as well as handle height.

Numb hands are quite common in cycling, probably no biggie. I'm guessing you need to make adjustments to the spin bike.......good luck.

Definitely a pinched nerve. Check with your instructor to make sure you're using proper form on any moves that cause that arm to bear weight. If it continues, check with a doctor. It could be pinched in your shoulder, elbow, or wrist (it being your pinky, I'm betting elbow or shoulder).

This happens to me quite often while cycling. Glad you confirmed it is common. Thanks!
