Does anyone know how to stop this or at least deal with it? I gain every month during that dreaded week and it can get as high as 5lbs. It makes me feel like why even bother that week i am going to gain anyways. This week would be that dreaded week and even though eating and exercising this week is something i would love to avoid i didn't, i worked out almost everyday this week and stayed within my calories and still i have gained a ton of weight, it's extremely frustrating!

just had mine, and scale showed as much as 4 lbs, and I kept eating healthy and walking and did some yoga, (I can't do jogging while I'm on my Period, because my tummy starts hurting?) but after the week passed I lost the 4 lbs and some! so I would just say don't weight yourself in that week and just because you feel heavy or what not, don't eat whatever you want...keep healthy keep exercising and move past it, and you will see great results! =D

Unfortunately, everyone's body is different and sometimes it's better to just try to maintain what you've already lost. If you "don't bother," then the weight gain will be worse than if you do try.

This week is that week for me as well, and my best advice is to weigh yourself BEFORE it starts and AFTER it ends to get a more accurate reading. You're going to gain weight during PMS because your body is struggling to retain the fluids its losing, and the hormones are skewed.

Don't give up, just keep doing what you're doing! :)

I know its hard but don't have that mentality because you arent actaully gaining fat that week, just water..treat that week as you would any other. If not you will end up getting down on yourself for it and regretting it.

Expect it every month, remember that it's not weight from a true fat gain, take it in stride and keep moving forward. The next week, your loss will look super! Don't loose focus on your diet and exercise because the gain w/your cycle is completely unrelated to them. Giving up will only bring on a real weight gain that you'll have to deal with.

I'm currently on my TOM and suprisingly enough I only gained 2 pds compared to the 5 pds I normally gain - right now I'm eating a little more but mainly snacking like cucumbers with lemon or strawberries with apple and tbsp of peanut butter, etc and I blast my workout in the evening and then have a light snack and I've managed to lose a pd since I started my TOM 2 days ago.

I would say, even if you gin up to the 5lbs durring that dreaded time of the month...it's probably mostly fluid retention. Does the weight go away after your TOM ends??? I would just make sure that you are still getting plenty of water and making the right food choices and exercising...keeping up what you are already doing, if you let it all go then there is a chance that you will gain more than just water weight or fluid retention. Sometimes if I am feeling a little more bloated and heavy in the bottom I will take Midol Complete to help with my PMS. I know it is frustrating to see that gain durring that time of the month but I think from most it is to be expected!
