I am definitely not your age, but you are welcome to "friend" me on MFP if you would like0

I do understand. Im 24 (at the end of the month) and all my real friends are in other states so I have no real support. It gets totally depressing. Having a great "virtual friend world" really does help! Even some people I have never met know more about whats going on with me and my body then any one else... and relationships... and offer great advice!0

I'm 23 but feel free to add me if you need some support!
I love my mates, but they are all lucky skinnies, so I've found it SO lovely to have people to talk to who understand!

Hi there! I don't see what the issue is with your appearance as you are pretty, but anyway feel free to add me I am a little older than you but I am still in my twenties!! )0

People have a tendency to blame a whole myriad of problems on being overweight. Some like health issues, hold more validity. Others like lack of friends, failed relationships, or inablility to land a job, are seated in a deeper issue.
In the vast majority of cases, being overweight is not the cause, but rather the symptom of a larger issue... You. Even in the short post here, your words point to a lack of self confidence and negative thought patterns.
Yes, losing weight can help your self esteem, but it is going to take more more work that just exercise and diet to create a happy, healthy person that others want to create bonds with. Some people can make these changes on their own, and physical activity not only helps, but offers you time to reflect. Others find that professional help is necessary.
I truly hope you find a path that leads you to happiness, but I would encourage you to look deeper than your weight. Our outward appearance is most often a reflection of what is going on inside, they change together.0 -

I'm a little bit younger (I turn 19 in September) but I definitely get what you're saying! Everyone around me is either already skinny or isn't worried about losing weight. I'd love someone to talk to when I need motivation, because they all just say "It's no big deal, skip a workout, cheat one meal," etc.0

Hey girl, I know how you feel. I'm always free to talk. I love making new friends when I can.

NOT HELPFUL!
Given I am sure there are the typically people on here who have not dealt with self-esteem issues. Where as I agree there is a deeper problem, finding supportive friends is the FIRST step to finding what the root of certain problems may be and turning life around. Its really hard to start new when there is no one to catch you when you fall, even just emotionally0
