The Ice Cream Problem

Alright...I have been on this diet for approx. 1 1/2 months. I do well almost every day (besides my vacation week) and I am always near to or hit my nutrient goals. One problem I have is sugar...I eat tons of fruit & other sugary things like cereal, milk, and yogurt. I know these are good sugars. But one thing I've found I CANNOT give up is ice cream. Now, I know to buy NSA vanilla & such, and find frozen yogurt...But my friends & I love to go to a local ice cream shop called Livvy's. I love soft serve.
SO my question is..when should I eat my ice cream during the day, or what should I eat before or after it to minimize the crappy sugar effects? Is there anything to help me?

Find out how many calories are in the ice cream that you want to eat and put that amount of calories aside for the day...That's what I would do....0

I don't focus on my sugars. I only have enough will power to focus on my calories and try to balance with healthy foods. I have to admit, one of my favorite treats is a McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone (150 calories.) I have been known to save just enough calories to squeeze that in. Nothing is "off limits" to me. but I do weigh the consequences.
Shoot, now I'm craving ice cream. :grumble:0 -
I'm also an ice cream addict. I usually try to set aside calories for the end of the day.
I've been very happy with the Skinny Cow and Weight Watchers ice cream bars. The Skinny Cow Cookies 'n' Cream Truffle bar has 110 calories, and the Weight Watchers Giant Cookies & Cream Ice Cream Bar has 130. They are both DELICIOUS.0 -
Have a self serve frozen yogurt place near you? Something like a Yoforia or Yogli Mogli? That's where I go now to get some fat free cold goodness.0
