iFit or PowerPlate machines

Hi people. Just wondering if anyone logs use of the above as exercise? My friend swears by the iFit and I tried it today but I'm not convinced you actually burn 300kcal in 10 minutes (what they claim on their website and posters). Similarly I do squats and balances on the PowerPlate from time to time while in the gym. I do notice it slightly raises my heart rate (about the same as doing weights) but is it really doing anything to help me lose weight? Interested in other people's experience/views.
