You really should change the thread title to what is your favourite movie of all time. Best is purely subjective, unless you're talking the script, direction, screenplay, sound, etc.
For me my favourites would have to be Lotr Trilogy, Independence Day, and XMen 3.0 -
John Wayne in The Quiet Man. Has it all Romance, humor, action. Probably a bit old school for most people but still my # 1.

I can't believe no one put any of the Rocky movies on their list! Not that they are on mine. That would be my husband's favorites along with the Godfather movies and Goodfellas. Pulp Fiction and well you get the idea. Anyway, my favorites would have to be: Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightly in it) The Proposal (gotta love Ryan Reynolds) Steel Magnolias, Dumb & Dumber (Don't ask me why it just is) Man in the Moon (one of Reese Witherspoon's first movies) The Notebook, Any Disney movie (except the Princess and the Frog...haven't seen it) Meet me in St. Louis ( Love Judy Garland!) I could keep going, but you kind of get the idea about what I like.0
