What does everyone listen to while running? I am still experimenting with my own collection, but I would love to put a playlist together that includes songs that are encouraging and motivating. (Not just lyrics, but the beat works too) Any suggestions?

I find anything that has a good fast beat works best. I listen to a variety of music from Country to Hard Rock and some that is not as mainstream.
  • What type of music is that? Deadmau5?

It's considered Progressive House music. It's usually got good beats and such, here's a song you can look up on Youtube to see an example. "I Remember - Deadmau5"

i was EXHAUSTED at the end of my last run... thought i couldn't take one more step... one more breath... just couldn't finish...

and then Don't Feel Like Dancin' by the Scissor Sisters came on and miraculously I was able to pick up the pace and run through the entire song to finish out my run... even sprinting to the finish line to get done before the song ended :)

a great song makes all the difference.

This may sound silly to many, but when I workout, I want to remind myself of the body I want to have. I tend to listen to pop/dance music by singers I would consider to be sexy or have good bodies just as extra motivation. I actually don't listen to this music at all any other time, but examples that come to mind are ***** Cat Dolls, or Britney Spears, things like that.

I second Deadmau5... Flux Pavilion is also great, and you can't go wrong with Girl Talk either!

I like Podrunner podcasts mainly because each is an hour long at the same tempo. The tempos range from the 130's to 180 beats per minute. Plus they are free. You can find the site by a web search or get them through ITunes.
