So I need some advice from any seasoned runners out there....
I have been running for about 7 months. In the last few days I have had a shooting pain in my right foot, right above and on my heel. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be and how I can fix it? It's difficult for me to even walk on that foot because of the pain.

My friend had this same pain and she is a runner as well. She finally went to the doctor, and they made her wear a walking boot for 6 weeks. I think it was a sprain.0

See your doctor and rest. Use an alternative method of exercise until your foot heals.0

Sounds like plantar fasciitis , no fun and ended my running, no matter what it is, its time to stop for a bit and let it heal. Limit time running on concrete too helps.
Sorry

Thank you for your advice. I put some ice on it for about 10 minutes and that helped a little bit. I have an appointment to see my doctor next week so I'm definitely going to bring it up to him. I was supposed to run in a 5k this weekend but I'm thinking I might have to skip it and rest my foot until I talk to my doctor
Thanks again for your idea/suggestions!0 -

Definitely sounds like plantar fasciitis. There are many stretches that can be done to work it out before seeing the doctor. Just do a search on youtube for 'plantar fasciitis stretches'.0

I checked YouTube for some stretches last night and they helped a lot. The pain is not as bad this morning as it was yesterday, so thank you all for your help!0
