Do you love your job?

I absolutely love my job. I am a counselor in an at risk high school. What I do clearly makes a difference in people's lives, and I am so blessed to have that opportunity.0

I'm the second generation in a family business and I just love the dynamic. I get to go to work everyday with my dad and build a business together. We work really well together and our relationship as father/daughter has really grown. I would say at this point my dad and I are truly friends. I'm also so thankful for the opportunity to travel the world and take on some serious responsibilities, even at a relatively young age. I wouldn't trade my job for the world.0

OMG yes I LOVE it. Literally the best job ever. I get to spend it playing with the most adorable and sweetest things on the planet. Four and Five year olds that bless me everytime I am around them. Their sunshine smiles remind me to smile. Their cute chatter and "no its not...yes it is...no its not" arguments. Or the fun of playing run from Teacher the monster. Or the water games and train slide. It's fun to be silly and know you don't look stupid doing it in their eyes. Each child is different and talented in a way perfectly fitting for them and it makes me insanely happy to get to share part of their day. They are beautiful and their pure innocent hearts bless me time after time in ways I can't even explain!0

I really do like my job. I am working for a family owned Chevrolet dealership for 2 1/2 years as a controller/business accounting manager. I previously worked for another family owned Chevy dealer 23 years until they decided to call it quits. Stayed home for about two years in-between, and that I loved, I played taxi driver to both of my teenage kids and all their friends (they didn't drive yet) and "Susie homemaker" and got to spend quite a bit of time volunteering at our Christian school. Other than working part-time at a local shoe store in high school and a short stint selling Mary Kay cosmetics -- that's my life as a working girl.0

I work with adults with learning disability and I enjoy my job although like most its the internal politics and paperwork that p@ss me off0

Halliburton and Enron had a baby, my company is the demon spawn of those two. While Enron was giving birth to my company, it died.
Good thing I wasn't drinking coffee when I read this - I needed a spew alert, lol!! Too funny!!! (My condolences to you, however, for having to work there..)
I have almost the best job around. I went from a SAH mom (which I loved) to being disabled. My (four) kids are all grown, and I now that I'm here, I'm getting a better handle on my health. Losing the weight I have has lessened the stress on my knees - when I started, I could hardly get around my apt. w/out a cane. Now, I'm walking (on average) a mile or two every day!!
I can get around by bus & subway, and I'm having loads of fun going to markets (to get the best veggies & fruits), and visiting areas around the city I haven't seen in years. Started a blog & I try to take photos everywhere I go. I *would* like to see if I can get a part time job, but I don't want to do anything that's going to make my health regress to anywhere like it was before. I'm basically close to retirement age, anyway - and having raised four kids, I'm pretty good at stretching those nickels!0 -
I have been a Registered Nurse for 16 years. I take care of the sickest of the sick and the dying. I have taken care of premature infants, struggling to take their first breath on the same day I've cared for many people on their last day on this earth. It is exhilarating and heartbreaking. It is largely thankless. But Each person that I care for deserves my best efforts and all of my skills. They are someone's family member. they are fellow human beings, Many are total dirtbags. But they all deserve the best I can give. I have saved many lives, and held the hands of many who could not be saved. I have wept with the Mother of a brain injured child as she made the decision to donate his organs that others may live. It can be a $hitty job, but to answer your question, yeah, I do love it.
What an awesome reply!! And thank you for the work you are doing - we need you, and more like you, out there!!
(My daughter is near completion of an intensive nursing program - I am SO proud of her!!)0 -
What more could I want? I get free gym membership, and I get to HELP people achieve a goal that is ENTIRELY based on their efforts (meaning no one worked out for them, ate for them, etc) and see the HAPPINESS. Happy makes happy.0

Have been a police officer for the last 5 years (another 30 to retirement) I love my job, love most of the people I work with, they're like family.
Can't say the same about members of the public... The majority of people I meet on a daily basis are lovely... Some people are just special and I also believe that it's wrong that people need a licence for a dog but not for a child!!!0 -
umm yup!! I am a mom. I homeschool one of my ds's. The pay is not great at times and then all of sudden I get a bonus, love or a kind word. I know lame but what can I say,0

Ive been in law enforcement for 8 years now and have loved every minute of it...almost. Couldnt ask for a better career. Something new every single day.0

It's hard to say whether or not I like my job. Some days I do, but then there are weeks and weeks that I don't.
I work at a Psychiatric Residential Treatment facility on a high-functioning (that is, their IQs are normal) teenage male sex offender unit. It's a hard place to work (I've worked with normal functioning (their IQs and EQs are on target age-wise) girls, mentally retarded/developmentally delayed sex offender boys, and now the high-functioning sex offender boys.)
The kids have had tragic lives and some of them have turned around and created tragic lives for others. It can be depressing as hell, especially as the boys very rarely leave successfully; when they turn 21 they often go to jail because of their offenses. The girls get better sometimes and when you watch them change and learn to cope with the things that happened to them and "grow up" to leave and be successful . . . those are the good days. Unfortunately, they're few and far between.
I'm actually seriously considering leaving the mental health field. What I think I'd really love to do is be a copy editor/writer. So far, no new job, though!0 -
I am an Occupational Therapist at a nursing home 3 days a week now and a stay at home mommy the rest of the week to my 8 month old son! I have to tell you that being a mommy is the best job there is!! Although, I love being an OT too, its very rewarding. However, at the same time it can be a very stressful job. Not to mention lots of cake and cookies come into the office as Thank You's! Those are hard gifts to pass up, but I have been doing good the last month or so! lol0

I'm a journalist and travel around the world writing about food technology and such...absolutely love what I do, cos food, travel and writing are my absolute passions!
Just, well, a little challenging when I'm trying to keep away from certain foods. :P0 -
I LOVE my job! I am so lucky. I am the lead massage therapist/spa specialist and also manager at a beautiful, small day spa. I go to work happy, I leave work happy, and I make people happy all day long. I wear yoga pants and tshirts or leggings and tunics, work barefoot in a dark room that smells good, and enjoy lots of quiet time. I love it so much that I'm pursuing esthetic licensing and once I'm dually licensed next year, I'm moving to the British Virgin Islands to work in paradise. Doing massage has taught me so much about myself and what I truly want out of my life, but the greatest reward is the satisfaction and gratitude of my guests. Who else gets regular hugs and adoration at their job on a daily basis? I wouldn't trade it for anything!0

i work two jobs the first is as an EMT and i do love the job, however i HATE my second job with a passion, i'm a security gaurd for a retirement comminity however the job and pay sucks. Gotta pay the bills though.0

As for being happy with my job, I will just say I'm looking on the bright side which is that I have a job. Right now my main purpose is to get three kids through college, being able to do that makes me happy. Once that is done, it will be my turn to do something I love!0

I do love my job, I stay home with my 3 young boys!! There are days I'd like a bit more adult conversation My husband loves his job...he served in the US Navy for 9 yrs and now works in a State Prison.0

Ugh, no! I work for the largest chain retailer in the world and hate it with a passion. They keep the staff at a bare minimum and expect the store to run like normal. Plus, I swear some of my co-workers have no idea what customer service entails (I'm not sure why people shop there, they are so rude!). But I'm working my way thru school and the pay is much better than other places (like $2-3 more an hour).0

I am a full-time nanny and get paid to play with my daughter and another baby. Who could ask for more?0

Military for 10 years. Police work for 14 years. I have served my country and my community. I love it.
Thank you for your service!!0 -
Love my current job: stay at home Mommy!! Best job I ever had!!0

I love what I do. I am a Safety Consultant that specializes in international / foreign regulations. In nearly 20 years it has taken me to 97 countries and all 7 continents. It has allowed me to live in London, Moscow and other parts of Russia, and the middle east.
The negative side= I spend too much time away from my family, especially now that my son is 5 yrs old I miss him when I am away. But, when I am home, I have 3-5 weeks of time off to spend with the family so that is great. I cant imagine any other way of life to be honest..... unless I won the lottery.... I have imagined that a lot!0 -
I'm a teacher, teaching mainly French and Spanish, but also Japanese, EAL and learning support. I love my job, now that my immediate boss doesn't hate me (change of boss). It's great to see someone get something they've never got before, and sometimes just a few words, or a gesture even, can make all the difference.0

Yes, I think so.0 -
I love my job. I schedule appointments and direct phone calls/take messages for 20 different primary care and specialty clinics. Each phone call is different, some patients are more polite than others, but at the end of the day I feel like I've really helped the people I've spoken to during the day.
It's especially cool when I have the chance to go "off topic" with a patient and talk about non-medical stuff - where they've travelled, genealogy, etc. It's another way of making a personal connection, and I think people like that.
I've been in this job for almost 6 years now, and I can truly say it's a pleasure to go to work every day.0 -
It's great to see how many people love their jobs. I wish more young people understood that you don't have to be a model or a footballer to have a great job.0
-
I don't LOVE my job, but I certainly enjoy it and it gives me satisfaction (not to mention helps pay the bills  )
I've had a variety of "careers" along the way and I've been with my current employer for the past 9 years and now a year into my 3rd promotion within the company.
Don't know if I ever had a dream job, but I certainly never figured I'd end where I am now :happy:0
