who knows how calories burned through exercise are calculated? is it by age? hr? or weight? or is there a formula including all of them. Im just unsure how many to log, as exercise machines are telling me one thing and my hr another(although hr isnt a chest strap one so i know its not too accurate) any help would be appreciated as i dont want to be making too big a defecit or eating too much back without realising. thanks :)

I found this blog extremely helpful when I made the switch to a Polar HRM from a Timex... There were massive inconsistancies...

    Hope this helps...

When I go on the treadmill I have to enter my duration, weight, and age. Factor in those three things plus the speed and the incline (and the time spent on each incline, as I choose the "variety" setting) and you'll understand why I dropped out of Calculus... ;)
