I decided that today I am going to start going back to Zumba!! This morning at 10, I am going to take a Zumba toning class and I wanted to know what should I eat before and after the class. I was thinking of having a regular breakfast and then a snack after.

  • Throw some eggs into your breakfast and you should be fine. Post-Zumba drink plenty of water.

Right before I run I like to eat a mini box of raisins. I feel like it gives me energy but doesn't "sit" in my stomach. Just a thought.

I was just going to ask the same thing. Would love to hear other ideas.

    Thanks

What works best for me is a breakfast loaded with protein - usually an omellet loaded with veggies - (around one hour before working out) and an apple (or other fruit) and some almonds (about 1oz) - protein and fiber- after the workout to hold me up until lunch. And before, during and after I always drink lots of water.

If I'm working out early-ish in the morning I'll have something light but with a decent amount of protein, like a Greek yogurt with some ground flax seed mixed in. If I exercise at night, I'll eat normally throughout the day and might grab a handful of trail mix with berries and nuts before exercising. After exercising I'll eat a normal meal, sometimes right after but usually about 45 mins to an hour after. I'll make sure to have a good amount of protein with that meal.
