March 13, 2011....I weighed in at a whopping 246.2, on a 5ft 9 inch frame. My youngest was almost a yr old. It took me 11 months, but I finally decided that there are NO excuses for my weight. Having 3 kids under the age of 4, is a GREAT reason to be in shape! So started my journey with MFP. I have never been a "healthy adult". My highest weight waas 283 and that was almost 5 yrs ago, I had yo yo'd since then. I tried all the diets, I could find. I was looking for a quick fix while dealing with a life long situation.
I have a friend that started MFP a few months before I did, and I saw how well she was doing. She is still going strong. I asked her what she was doing to lose the weight, and she told me MFP. So I figured, hey what do I have to lose but weight!?
5 months and 84 pounds later I've hit my goal weight as a healhy adult for the firs time ever! There is nothing like the old fashion counting calories, and exercise to make it happen. No pills needed, no fad diets, just hard work, dedication, and a support team of friends/family. I've gone from a size 18/20 to a 10/12!
I owe my new found health to MFP, myself, and family! When someone asks me how I did it, I always refer them here!! I wish everyone good luck in their own journey and am so happy to have found this site!
I do have pics posted if you like to take a peek, they are on my profile. My food diary is open too.
