Ive been thinking about what my goal should be fitness wise and have come up with.....Triathalon (sprint not olympic for the first time) I weigh 202 and am 5'8.5. I am not in great shape but am feeling very motivated. The triathalon I want to aim for is in september 2012 and is 300m swim (in ice cold mountain lake) 12km bike (mountain trails) and 5km run. Is this too lofty of a goal?

What are everyone elses goals?

If you have a similar goal, ad me and we can help each other!

P.S In my glory days I did the MS mountain bike tour twice (90 k in the mountains) and know how hard an endurance race can be!

I think since your giving yourself a reasonable amt of time, that goal can truley be achieved. You just have to keep that on the front so you don't get side tracked! :)

Wow, that is a great goal! I think that seems like a good amount of time to prepare for it. My goal right now is to be able to start running so I can do a 5K in Dec. & I thought that was lofty:laugh: This will be my first attempt at doing anything athletic (including school sports).

    Good luck!

    I think it's a fantastic goal!!!!
My ultimate goal is to complete the Busselton Half IronMan (Western Australia) in May 2013...( Planning on a second child between now and then, hence the time span). That's a 1.9km swim (and I don't swim!), 90km bike ride and a 21km (half marathon) run...
It's great to set yourself fitness goals!!! It helps to keep you motivated and reminds you why you're here!!!

YOU SHOULD!!! That sounds so cool, you've got plenty of time to get ready. Right now my goal is to run a 5K in November. I ran cross country for two years in high school and I want to start running a bunch again =] I finally lost enough weight that it doesn't hurt my joints to run anymore =]
