Hello, :flowerforyou:
I was wondering if you guys could look at my food diary and tell me how it looks. I'm not positive how I'm doing and ANY recommendations would be helpful. I'm vegan so no dairy or meat lol. I feel like I'm doing okay, but I don't know everything. Even if you guys have some little tips or suggestions outside of my food that you would like to share that would be great too =].
Thanks!!!

I went back a few days and you have been somewhat under on calories to significantly under. In the long run this can screw you up and make you plateau (that's what happened to me- two month long plateau because I ate too little). Your diet looks good but try to get closer to your calorie goal every day. If you need a calorie boost, nuts, nut butters, avocado, and cooking in olive oil are all great choices. Nutrient dense with healthy fats.0

Hi, so this is coming from a fellow vegan who <tries> to eat fairly healthfully - I got off track the past three months for a variety of reasons, but am back on track towards following my own advice. Now, I did only look back four or five days.
1. Try to cut back on the processed stuff. You're getting a lot of unnecessary sodium.
2. Eat whole grains - I see a lot of bread, and at least one serving of white bread a day. Bread is fine (as are tortillas) - in moderation and I would say go for breads like wheat, rye, whole wheat sourdough, rather than white (I would consider three slices of bread a day too much). Ultimately, though, whole grains are better for you - brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa, etc.
3. Canned beans can be fine (though dry are cheaper and taste better), but get the no sodium kind. And branch out - there are loads of different types of beans. And lentils are super easy and quick to cook.
4. Incorporate more veggies into your diet (by this I mean in terms of nutrient dfense veggies like kale, broccoli - the dark greens)
5. I would suggest having something like oatmeal for breakfast, or since you seem to not mind a different type of breakfast you could even have something like brown rice and steamed greens.
6. You may want to track your iron and calcium levels. Now that I have been off track, I am not getting my requirements like I was when I was eating better.
7. Make sure you take a B-12 supplement if you aren't already. Sublingual is best.
Obviously that's just my own opinion. I used to eat well all the time, and have felt pretty gross the past few months and now have to struggle to get back to doing what was natural for me, and made me feel a lot better. Nothing wrong with veggie burgers or veggie dogs here and there if you want them, but I personally would make them a treat rather than a staple (unless they help you to stay vegan). Anyway, take what works for you, and leave the rest. Just hope it gives you some ideas.0
