Hi everyone!! Today (or rather tonight) I am starting fresh on My Fitness Pal. Any suggestions are more than welcome. I am trying to stick with Weight Watchers on my own, but slip every now and then.

Do not eat while watching tv as you do not pay attention to what you are putting in your mouth. Try dixie paper plates as they are smaller than your real plates. A lot of time when you think you are hungry, you are thirsty. You can do it!0

Welcome. I just joined the site a few days ago, but have been on a weight loss program for a year now and have learned so much from my support groups and doctors. While I do have a lap band, I still have to struggle to make the right food choices, I plateau, get discouraged and go through what all others encounter. I just know that we CAN do it with the help, advice, support and motivation from each other and you'll find all of that here on this site!
My advice to everyone is to remember that you've got a goal and you just keep walking toward it, one step at a time. If you have a day you get off of the path, it's really easy to make your next choice a healthy one....don't let a few unhealthy choices derail you. If you keep going, you'll find that your healthy choices will become easier and it's a lot better for you to keep trying, every day, to stay on your goal because once you quit, you will no longer even TRY.
Stay positive and when you're hungry, sign on here and read about some of the most awe inspiring and most inspirational every day people I've ever met.....right her.
Good luck!!! You CAN do it....one step at a time!0 -
Hi there - back in January, I too, started weight watchers. It worked great and I save all the food trays, and later used them to portion out my meals). I continued to eat solely weight watchers and protein meal replacement for 60-days, then I began to roll-in "regular" food and meals. The plan worked great! Starting weight was 157lbs and I leveled out around 133Ibs. I've started back up today because I'm at a plateau and want to reach my 125Ib goal weight goal and fitness level. The site is fabulous and really helps you easily what foods to mix and at what times. Anyway good luck - it's all about the goal and the discipline - be accountable to yourself and you'll do great!0

Thank you all for the encouraging words. I really don't have a lot to lose, but want to eat healthier and keep up the exercising. Does this website have a place (like Weight Watchers does) that has a list of foods you can eat? I truly don't know where or how to start. I do read labels, but now I have to read for different things from WW. I have my numbers of how much I'm allowed a day, but I'm not that great at "knowing" which foods have which nutritions in them (if that makes sense). I did buy a book about nutritional value, but slow at reading it - three boys in the house - not a lot of time to just sit and read. I do like that WW gives a list to help out. Thanks again!!!!0
