I won`t be able to measure food at my university cafeteria this fall so how should figure out the calories of the 2 meals I eat there?

Ok, the best thing I think you can do is start now. Weigh standard foods that are likely to be in the cafeteria if you can, and learn what that portion looks like. You may have to estimate a lot of your meals, which isn't ideal. Remember, estimating high fat foods is more tricky, as if you get it wrong you could be out a lot of cals, so stick to healthier options. Choosing the food that is less calorie dense is a good option anyway, as you will feel fuller.

Hope this helps, and good luck at uni!

you just have to guess. take the individual ingredients and just try to portion out the meals...guess what looks like a cup, or ounce..etc

I'm figuring they'll serve chicken, meat loaf, fish, pasta, etc. They also serve a veggie and a starch with it (meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn). Figure it out now so when you get there you'll have an idea. It won't be as hard as it sounds and kudos for worrying about your calories!!

I don't think it's laziness... I just think he draws the line when it comes to putting a scale in his purse. :-D

This guide might be helpful in *guess*timating what you eat. They even have a wallet size guide that you can print out and carry:
