Low fat diets have been proven, repeatedly, to be both inefficient for weight loss, and unhealthy.
It's not natural and it's surrounded by out of date myths and unfounded theories.

What do you suggest is the "correct" percentage?

I presented my diet plan, if you have something you want to share, please do. Also, please open your food diary so we can see if you are following your own advice. Thanks.

I think a "correct" percentage is different from person to person. Some people are highly sensitive to carbs and some are not. I think people have to figure out what makes THEIR body happy and go from there.

No argument from me. Do what you body works best with.

I did state that everyone is different in my original post. What I do not like are replies that don't contribute to the poster's request and then proceeds to give an empty reply like, it doesn't work. If this person replies with a low-carb percentage, maybe the poster will see both sides and realize that she needs to figure it out for herself. I gave a doctor's program which she could follow if she wanted to or she could have followed the advice of a low-carb dieter (since there are many types of low carb diets out there and since I have no experience in them, I can't recommend any).

If I try to give a two sided-answer, then I risk looking like a know it all. I can only talk to what I am going through and have gone through. I post my perspective because I like to see how others are achieving their weight loss goals. I think we can all learn from each other.

Funny how losing weight really doesn't help.
So true! when I was over 270lbs every doctor blamed my weight and lack of exercise, now 122lbs lost and they can no longer blame my weight yet my back still hurts even with all the exercise I do every day, now I am meant to just put up with the pain like its "normal"

i have my percentages set at 35% carbs, 35% protein, 30% fat. these are the ratios that i feel best at! i never feel light-headed or gross between meals/snacks. i typically have very high energy levels and perform better doing hard exercise at these amounts.

    but really.

it varies for every individual. try experimenting with your body a bit and then decide the perfect ratios for yourself :)

I was told by my doc to keep my back warm and to lose weight. Funny how losing weight really doesn't help.

Yeah, no kidding. I was expecting a big improvement for myself on back pain as well. So far...NOT!
