Does anyone have the Garmin GPS for running? I just saw an article on great holiday ideas for runners and this came up. I never saw it before today. I don't have an ipod so the nike+ really isn't a great idea for me right now. I am looking for something to track my pace and keep track of mileage when we do trail runs and things like that. My running group is moving more toward trail runs on the weekends but we have no idea how many miles we are putting in or what our pace is. I have a HRM but the one I saw was the gps and a hrm all in one. It looked pretty cool. Any input?

One of the guys in my running group has one. It is a little bigger then a watch and it keeps track of all kinds of stuff, like pace, distance, time run and more. Another lady in our group uses her Iphone with a program called map my run. It uses the gps built into the phone and also uses google maps so you can see the route you actually ran. You can save these maps in a log. Either one is very cool and can help with your planning and tracking.

I use Map My Run as well - you can either go on the computer or download and upload the program to your phone -

No iphone so that is out. I do use mapmyrun but when you are running on unmarked trails it is hard to map it.:grumble:

Yep, I have one and love it! I've had the Garmin 201 for over 3 years now, and there are lots of better models out there now. Mine does tell me my pace (mph), distance, mileage, etc. The price has gone down a lot now.

I can't imagine running outdoors w/out my Garmin!!!
