Restaurant work

I've been helping out at my friend's restaurant a few nights a week and I've been logging it as cleaning, light effort. Does that sound about right? I don't want to change my activity level, since it is fairly sporadic. I'm helping out with front of the house stuff, doing some hostessing, bartending, bussing; which includes a lot of lifting, walking, etc. It's a sweaty job, I never knew how rigorous working in a restaurant was.

The calories MFP says I expend for the 5-7 hours is through the roof; granted I don't eat them back, but I am curious if this is a good way to track it or if people have a better way.

  • I would say thats about right and you don't have to eat all of your calories back that day. I would eat a little more the day before and the day after and eat maybe 1/3 the day of. Hope this helps! :)

To be hones, Iam curious to this as well. the caloric output MFP states for my activities and excercise always seems sky high to me. This the main reason I want a HR/calorie monitor.
