A couple ASYLUM questions!

I got my Asylum DVD's on Thursday and Day 1 was FRIDAY. Loving it to far, even though I feel like I am starting all over again and feel completely uncoordinated! lol
For those who have done it, I have a couple questions for you:
1. What us the difference between STRENGHT and STRENGTH WITH BANDS? I just did plain STRENGTH yesterday and there were two people using bands in it. Is the other one a completely different workout? What advantages does one have over the other?
2. I just did BACK TO CORE and now my back is achy, which I assume is normal since Shaun T. just handed my *kitten* to me. My problem is that I am running a Half-Marathon on September 11 and today is also my long run day. Is it a bad idea to still run? Am I risking injury by doing these two workouts ont the same day?

Oh, and what are the upper toning power bands mentioned in the Progress Tracker? Are those the loop things that came with it?0

Great choice picking up asylum. I've just finished day 11, game day is a killer!
There are two sorts of bands, ones like a giant rubber band and ones with handles on. You use the former for a few moves in a couple of the workouts. The latter is instead of dumbbells. Unless you struggle with good form with the dumbbells our they don't go heavy enough for you stick with the dumbbells. I only use the bands when I don't have light enough dumbbells to hand. Generally speaking you'll get a better quality workout from the dumbbells.
As for your back if it is still sore a day later then you need to modify next time do do back to core. Only you can decide if your back is too sore to run. Two workouts ones of which is Asylum is hard core, are you doing relief after a workout? That stretch really helps.0
