Is it okay to limit my sugar to less than 50 grams? I don't have any problems with diabetes and it doesn't seem to be be bothering me at all. I'm just curious what everyone else does. I'm on 1200 cal a day, 40 % protein, 30% carbs and 30 % fat as my goal

I believe so! I learned that the body can make glucose (the most important sugar) from whatever source. I'm sure you will get differing opinions.

I limit to 25g of sugar per day, and I eat 1200 calories as well.

YES, but carbs translate into sugar in the long run, so watch those, too! Don't skimp on lean protein. If you limit your sugars to 12 grams or less per serving, that will work well. I aim for 1500 calories per day.
  • I'm on a 1200 calorie limit too...and my sugar limit is 25g. I usually end up with 10g of sugar remaining..at the end of the day. I try to stay within 15-20 g per day.
