Hi!

Has anyone with less then 20 lb's to lose had any success with calorie zigzagging? I am thinking of giving this try since I am not really getting anywhere with MFP's suggested calorie intake.

Thanks!

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. What mfp suggests is not necessarily what you really require. Many women and men on here eat to little and do not get the desired results because of that. In my case I bought a bodymedia fit to find out what I was burning and in my case it was nearly 1000 cals a day more than what mfp suggested for me. If you are not dropping then increase your cals around 250/day and see if that makes a difference after a week. Also something I would strongly urge you to do is get measurements, as the scale is a poor means of tracking true fat loss. If you gain for that week then you know you are eating to much, if you remain the same then increase again and see what the results are.

Zig zagging cals is a good way to accelerate fat loss for those whom are leaner but it requires proper diligence on nutrition to make sure that you are getting proper intake. The best means of doing this from my experience has been 2 low days followed by 1 high day which usually means maintenance lvl or close to that.

Ok, Thank you so much! I know I need to eat to lose.. but, it is still so hard to wrap my brain around eating all those calories.. I am definitely gonna give zigzagging a try.
