I haven't been loggging in for over a week which means no food diary. This has resulted in me treating myself to rubbish food. I weighed myself this morning and I have gained 5 1/2 pounds. I am in tears. I am so angry with myself and I feel like such a failure

Ok. Take a deep breath. And move forward.

Ok, so yeah you messed up a bit, indulged a little too much and you've gained a bit of weight. This won't destroy you or mean that everything is pointless. Just accept the error, think positively to what you can do to help work that off. I know the tears and i know the emotional stress you are probably putting yourself under right now. Being angry with yourself is like shouting at the wind for being windy. it won't make it any better or less windy, you just end up exhausting yourself.

You are not a failure. You slipped up, and therefore let this be the encouragement that when you do try and put your mind to it, you achieve great things.

Today is a new day baby doll. get on it xxx

I can see you are upset, but you are not a failure, you are just human. Weight loss is never easy, that is why we need these tools to help us and also why there is a multi million pound business based on people that struggle. At least this tool is free and it is a massive help if used in the right way.

Now you need to brush yourself down, move on and focus on the future. Start logging again, do some exercise (you don't have to go mad), and you will start to lose again. Make some MFP friends that will help with the motivation.

Come on !! You can do it

Look one thing, you are not a failure you have come back on this site to start again so that is saying something - whatever happened last week, yesterday is history today is a new day and a new food diary -just go for it. Having only joined this site last week I can honestly say that I have yet to be under my calorie goal but I keep trying and that is the main thing, I am dreading my first weigh in on Thursday yikes x

I sometimes struggle with being under my calories, to be fair i do have them set to the max lb loss... Stick on some music and do some dancy hoovering. Or generally prance about in front of the mirror with a hairbrush prtending your a superstar. This is how i exercise at home. And then i get to eat a bit more :)

I had the same problem last week. Went on holiday and couldn't get online to log and let things slide a bit. I put on 3lb and was a bit gutted as I would have gone under 13 stone, a big milestone for me. I just realised that I would have to work extra hard to get back on track this week. You can do it, just be religious about logging your food and you will soon be back on track.

It is okay to be angry at yourself. Use that anger to inspire you to go forward. Don't wallow in the feelings of failure, from experience I know that that often becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Don't do that to yourself. Get back on track. That will be a decision you will never regret. Be strong.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again!

We've all fallen off the wagon. The important thing is to get right back on again.

The week before I started on here I ate all sorts of crap. I do believe that part of that 5 pounds of weight will come off quickly due to water. Junky food has lots of sodium in it.

    You can do it!
