I don't know about others, but when I went through menopause, I suddenly gained almost 20 pounds overnight!! Well, with a lot of work, I have finally gotten down to my pre-menopausal weight of 131!! I run a LOT but just couldn't take the weight off. It's all about the FOOD, folks!! As we age, we have to deal with our slower metabolism. It's not impossible to lose it, but it's darned HARD!! :drinker:

It makes me wonder if us grandmas aren`t meant to carry a little more? Helps to fill in the wrinkles, eh?

Joking aside, I find this website to be great in helping me adjust my eating to my new metabolism. With kids off to college, we have a lot of spare time again, but we have lost the exercise habit that we had when we were younger before the kids came. And now we are all out of shape, so getting back there just takes a little more determination. But the old body isn`t what she used to be, so it takes longer to get there.

Yes, there are definite changes. Eyesight goes. Muscles loose tone, and droop develops. Good for you to keep up the running!
