Just want an opinion.

I used to love the Martial arts (Tae Kwon do) to be specific and while I typically work out in the evenings after work I am looking to spend some time in the morning getting focused and stretched out of the day. I used to spend alot of the time on my feet at work so this wasnt an issue but now that I have reached a certain level with my employer I spend most of my day at a desk reviewing reports and replying to emails so I need something to get the blood flowing a bit without getting into an all out workout. I have been doing some yoga in the morning and am pleased that my flexibility is a lot better than I thought it would be. But I am thinking Tai chi might be a good morning activity to not only get my body awake but to destress and focus myself before work. Anyone have any opinions on the art?

    have you done it before?

I did Tai Chi for about 12 weeks, and although, i realize this makes me NO expert, I didn't really enjoy it. I didn't find that it was as effective at stretching as yoga. Poses aren't held, but transition into new poses, and I honestly spent more time trying to remember where to move my body parts next, rather than focusing and de-stressing.

But, also this is coming from someone who enjoys running, and weight lifting mostly because it is pretty thoughtless.

Good luck if you try it!! I hope that you enjoy it!
