Good morning everyone!

I just thought it would be interesting to see what all of you have struggled with during this weight loss process the most. I know for some it's the emotional, for others the temptation, for others the physical. I think it would be a positive thing to let it out so we can all continue to support eachother and know where we are all coming from.

I think the one thing I have struggled with is the more emotional part of it all. Feeling rejected by family because I'm not as skinny as my sister was a constant issue. In high school I was a size 9 but I was never really super skinny. I'm Puerto Rican and pretty curvey so I know I will never be a size 5 or smaller than a size 9. These thoughts of feeling inferior used to torment me and lunged me into a strong state of depression where I figured I am always going to be big. But, with the help of God and finding my own inner stregnth I made a decision to step out of that dark corner I was in and make a change! You see, we all have the stregnth to come out any situation with a positive attitude. Your mind frame will make such a difference!!!

At this point in my life I am completely happy with who I am and where I am at in my life. I just would like to get a little healthier and stay that way. If there is anything I have learned, it's that there is beauty in every single person and the people who choose not to see that are always going to miss out on the chance to meet an amazing person.

I know lately there has been alot of negative comments in the aspect that people have been putting themselves down alot on here but that is the reason we are all suppporting eachother! Just want to say you are all beautiful and with hard work we will succeed! Lets keep up the good work and feel free to add me everyone! Muahz and God Bless all of you! Lets get it in!!!

My biggest struggle is self control when I am out either at a restaurant or a party.

A constant struggle for me has been getting off my butt to move my body. I do go to the gym, but don't put in as much effort as I need to.

    Thanks for the question!!
  • Biggest struggle is that little voice inside saying you've done so well have a little treat. And ignoring it!!

My biggest struggle was just getting started again. I had done the calorie counting thing once before and lost weight only to quit and have it come back. I kept putting off getting started again.

My other struggle is that I am currently back at the weight that I usually stop paying attention at. I feel attractive at this weight and it's easy to decide it's "good enough". Luckily this time though my weight loss journey I've been making smaller changes so it's been a little easier to keep going.

Platuea - very hard to stay motivated and figure out how to break if, especially when I try suggestions on message boards here and from internet sites. That's my biggest struggle.
  • Self-control- really hard for me not to snack on junk food when my man is eating it non-stop..

For me the hardest thing is getting moving. And actually being addicted to MFP. I find myself sitting on the computer looking at weightloss information more than getting up and moving.

I also have the issue of when Im doing really well I "treat" myself to something yummy...usually an entire fatty calorie full meal. Then its hard for me to get back on track. This weekend I gained a pound. I made a cheesecake for my husbands b-day and I ate 5 pieces of it over 2 days. I have a serious sweet tooth.

Excercise, my husband and I have very busy lives (as most people do) and it's always a struggle to make time between working full time, running the kids to where they need to be, cooking, cleaning and actually spending time with my family. I try and do some walking at work, but when you get on a roll, it's so hard to take 15 or 20 minutes to leave with out feeling guilty.

My biggest struggle has been losing weight very slowly and giving up. I am going to stick with it this time. I know that is just how my body is programmed. Every journey begins with the first step. I have got to keep walking down this road of weight loss. If I stop and rest, I will not reach my goal. I am going to be like to turtle and win the race.

I think just maintaining. I find it very hard to strike the balance, as I was on 1200 calls a day, and was starving, but have put myself up to 1380 calls (losing 1/2 a lb a week) and seem to have gained in the last month, even with exercise, since I switched, which makes me think my metabolism must be lower than I thought.

My biggest struggle is with time. I'm losing weight at about 5 pounds a month, which is pretty good, according to my doctor.
The problem is, it seems like way too slow! I blame the ads that offer, "lose 20 pounds a month". I know they are bu11sh*t!
When I consider I have about 75 more pounds to go, at 5 pounds a month, Ugggh over a year!
I do better if I just look at the month I'm working on and let the big picture take care of itself. A few NSV might help keep me motivated.

Losing weight, then gaining 2 pounds in 3 days for no apparent reason. This has happened to me 2 times now. I didn't go and eat 7000 extra calories in 3 days. I weighed in at 225 last Wednesday and right now I'm 227 and I've been stuck there for a couple days. I have no explanation for this gain because I am always under my calories and work out 6 days a week. My best guess is water weight, but it is for sure a struggle and very frustrating. Also, I've lost 13 pounds and I realize that isn't a lot, but I still feel the same, look the same, and my clothes fit the same... so that is for sure another struggle.

This time things have really gone smoothly. I have to say my guardian angel has really helped me through. But my biggest problem is controlling myself with trigger food, like Pizza or chips and dip. (I can handle just chips, but through in the sour cream based dip and I go crazy. :ohwell:

Plateaus for sure. I'm motivated and determined while I'm losing but as soon as I hit a plateau, I want to give up and feel defeated. I am going through my second plateau right now and it's taking everything I have not to give up. If it weren't my pals here on MFP, I'm sure I would've quit a long time ago! But here I am still truckin'!
