Okay so this is largely my fault because I didn't weigh myself on both scales. But last weekend I went out and bought a new scale that has some other options like BMI, body fat, etc. I weighted myself on the new scale and it was 146.2 so that's what I entered in here. I packed the old scale away without comparing.

I started a new diet, zig zag, new calories, etc. Then one week later now, I weighed myself on the new scale. 146.2. So I brought out the old scale and stepped on and it says 144.2!

So what the heck now. Since I was using the old scale to monitor my weight, should I continue to use that scale? Or should I trust the new scale is right and enter that weight and keep on going this week? Part of me REALLY wants to use the old scale because of the number!! but if it's not right, it's not right.

UPDATE: I tried weighing other things and the difference was only 0.1 pounds between the two. Incidentally, my 10 pound weights are actually 11 pounds. lol

That's a tough one. You could calibrate the new scale to the old one. Did the weights weigh 11 pounds on the old scale or the new one?

Just for myself..I would use the new scale if you are planning on using and keeping that for tracking your weight...I stick with just one scale because of the differences...when I swapped mine out I threw the old one away...Good job on the loss either way!!...

Your best bet is probably to just pick one and stick with it. If you told us the model numbers fo the two scales, we might have some advice in particular. Using a 10 pound weight might not be great for testing the calibration, as these scales are not really designed to measure things that small. If you have access to a gym, maybe you could take the scales there and use some much larger hand weights and see if you get any better measurement to compare.

Well the weights were nearly the same on both scales, but I agree that something that small might not be accurate.

I could find another scale at work, but then It's different conditions, I'd be wearing clothes, I've eaten now, yada yada.

I wonder if the fanciness of the scale readings are throwing the weight off? Even when I stack a pile of giant university textbooks on there it's the same on both scales. I guess i'm trying to justify the lower amount LOL
