Weight is a rather personal and emotional issue. I don't usually interfere. I think it should come from within. Can you really convince someone to loose weigh or improve what they eat if don't have the smallest internal inclination or recognition to do something about themselves?
Also, some people (most?) would like to whine. I dunno. Maybe that's how they keep the upper hand. It is part of their social interaction manner. Weight, wealth, work, health, relatives, family, this that. yeah, there is no lack of problems to choose from. Boo hoo!
Here is question to @gutterball. Does this friend listen and support you? It does not need to be entirely reciprocal all the time in a friendship. Friends that listen and support you are precious. Keep them. And your MFP circle is such a group.0 -
this is actually very mean. you dont have know what kind of thing this woman might be going through at home. maybe she needs a friend or someone to gently show her how the choices she is making could hurt her health in the long run. but she definitely doesnt need judgmental coworkers who look down on her and call her a `scag` behind her back on the internet.
Wow, I like you.
Edit: Not like you in as having a sexual epiphany and I'm having a lesbian moment (not that there is nothing wrong with lesbians, of course :flowerforyou: ) but I meant it more like I think you are an awesome person. Um, so yeah, you're cool! lol :happy:0 -
Next time she says she "can't lose weight", tell her to try MFP and send her a friend request as a follow up.
Then, if she complains again, you can ask how MFP is working for her...0 -
Play nice with this one. Considering the fact that you don't know what she's going through. Some people eat because of depression. I say next time she complains about not being able to lose weight, ask her to join you for some exercise! Or encourage her to try again. That little push may be just what she needs to get into shape!0
