I am considering the slow carb diet and have a few questions. *Number one:" Is this bad in any way for you metabolism? I really don't want to hurt my metabolism any further and for some reason to me, pigging out one day a week doesn't seem like it would be good for your metabolism I know that it says the whole point of this day is to prevent harm to metabolism but that doesn't seem to sit right in my brain. *Question II* If you successfully lose the desired weight off of the slow carb and decide you want to incorporate some fruit or milk into your diet but still keep your diet healthy (as in eat fruit every day for lunch or have a glass of milk (Or start adding a little bit of ranch dressing on your salads or carrots) etc) will you gain all the weight you lost back or will the weight stay off (maintain) if you continue to eat in a healthy manner (but don't follow the slow carb guidelines to a T any longer) *Question 3* Is it okay to take B12, vitamin C, cranberry pills, and probotics while on this diet? Are there any suggested vitamins to take while doing this diet? *Thanks for any input!*

Actually I just googled it...and for the most this is how I eat already. The main rule is #1.
I just changed my goals here to 45% protein, 25% carbs, 30% fat and cut out the stuff in #1.
The rule I do NOT follow is not drinking calories as I drink at least 2 protein shakes a day. I don't like plain water.
I also love fruit in my greek yogurt and oatmeal -- and I don't PLAN a binge a day. I do this 7 days a week and try not to kick myself if I have a bad day. (which I do -- especially this time of the month when I need chocolate more than protein! LOL)
RULE 1: AVOID "WHITE" CARBOHYDRATES.
Avoid any carbohydrate that is, or can be, white. The following foods are prohibited, except for within 30 minutes of finishing a resistance-training workout like those described in the "From Geek to Freak" or "Occam's Protocol" chapters: all bread, rice (including brown), cereal, potatoes, pasta, tortillas, and fried food with breading. If you avoid eating the aforementioned foods and anything else white, you'll be safe.
Just for fun, another reason to avoid the whities: chlorine dioxide, one of the chemicals used to bleach flour (even if later made brown again, a common trick), combines with residual protein in most of these foods to form alloxan. Researchers use alloxan in lab rats to induce diabetes. That's right-it's used to produce diabetes. This is bad news if you eat anything white or "enriched."
Don't eat white stuff unless you want to get fatter.0
