I am so tired.
I am to the point where I almost want to cry because I'm so tired. Like I'm 3 years old again. :embarassed:

This is the fourth day in a row that I have not had the time or energy to make it out the door to even do a mile...tonight is the worst because I fell asleep for two hours and just woke up with a migraine. Neither water or caffeine helped, so I am hoping the ibeuprofin kicks in soon. Tuesday I strained my lower back and could barely bend at the waist on Wednesday, but I rested and I feel better now.

I'm not asking for motivation or anything...I do want to exercise, but I have been putting school first like a good girl. But I have definitely been feeling the effects of my study sessions which are usually hours long. This week I've been staying up until 1 doing projects or just studying, then waking up at 7 and having some really busy days. I've been staying after class to practice giving my lecture, working longer hours because of the holidays, tutoring, and churning out projects like a madwoman. I now have only one project left to do, thank goodness.

Despite my lack of exercising, I'm actually really happy with this week. I'm still eating right, and even lost 2lbs this week. The brain uses a tremendous amount of energy, so with all this studying I'm really not surprised. I'm even retaining the information! Today I tutored and I just rattled off the entire ovulatory cycle and impregnation cycle without even looking at my notes, so I feel really good about my exam Tuesday. Monday I am teaching, so today I went out and bought a whole new outfit for it. Sort of a way to celebrate and reward myself. I haven't been down on myself at all for missing the gym for a few days.

So here's the moral of the story: Even when you're REALLY busy, and you don't work out, and you're totally wiped out, don't feel bad about it. Be kind to yourself, let your body rest, and get back into it as soon as you feel mentally and physically ready. Take care of yourself by maintaining a healthy diet and avoiding negative self-talk. Feel good about your other accomplishments. :flowerforyou:

    Thank you!

I just see a lot of people here feeling bad when they miss a day or two due to work or family or whatever else...and my bf and I were talking about how busy I've been and he said, "You need to put yourself first and do things that will benefit you in the long run. Pushing yourself too hard now will just cause problems later." I think it's important to be OK with missing some days or falling off for a couple days in order to really understand moderation.

It makes me feel better, because this is day 3 that I haven't done ANYTHING. I've been so busy with school and finals and projects and performances....ugh, I'm going crazy with it all, wishing I had time to workout.

I haven't gained or lost, which is good enough I guess. Usually I drop like 4-6lbs during finals (healthy I know) because I fill up on caffeine instead of food (:grumble: )

It's a good reminder to be good to myself.
    thank you!:flowerforyou:

Yea, I find that I lose in cases of extreme stress too. I just don't have much of an appetite and I'm so busy I don't think of eating until it's been 6 hours and I finally feel hunger. But I figure if I can do this, I can definitely do grad school, because that's only a few credits a semester and I get to be a grad assistant if I'm good, so no more retail sucking away my will to live.

Being a grad assistant is rough. Watching the poor opera grad students kill themselves in order to do their job right has made me not want to be a performance grad student haha.
...even though it would be nice to quit working at the radio station.
