started mfp almost a week ago. since the start i have been eating what mfp recommends, take a few away some days. i also have been doing walks for nearly a hour the past 5 days. for some reason i am scared to take a resting day because in the past i felt overwhelmed when the next work out day was. i felt totally out of it. the past 5 days i have worked out and come home exhausted. i am thinking i am pushing it and eventually i will wear myself out. FX i hope not!

there are lenty of people that work out 6-7 days a week! I did before a car accident! and as long as you arent working out whiel so sore you can barely move you wont over do it. Listen to your body, if it hurts take it easy, still workout even if its just 30 min on the treadmill, any activity is better then none

If you're worried, why not start out walking three or four days a week? Or you could walk for half an hour instead of an hour. You can always increase your exercise later! If you're worried that doing too much exercise will effect your motivation, that's a pretty good indicator that it will - there's no harm in starting slowly :)

your body needs time to recover from your workouts, so it's fine to take a day off, or two, or three - it's fine! You need to do what's sustainable to you.

Sounds to me like you're doing too much for right now. How about cutting it down to 3 days/week, with rest days in between. Try doing some sort of exercise you enjoy, don't make it an unpleasant task, you won't be able to keep it up.

This is great advice - its much better to build up slowly and enjoy what you are doing than start out full on and burn out in a few weeks.
Resting is really important to allow your body to adapt and heal - but you don't have to do NO exercise on a rest day - maybe change it up for something different, shorter, less stressful - like a gentle bike ride or swim or walk.
