I started this journey just over 4 months ago, for health, for fitness, and also with the intermediate goal of getting fit for walking the inca trail in Peru.

Well, we got back from 3 weeks in Peru a week ago (didn't do the inca trail but that's another story), and my diet has taken a while to settle back since I returned, and I've done virtually no exercise due to a stinking cold picked up on the plane, combined with jetlag.

But, last night I went back to badminton (I play with members of my hiking group) after a very long time off - we were so focused on preparing for Peru, I missed a lot of their social events and walks, to focus on "proper" walking weekends away instead. This means, several of them haven't seen me for a while.

I'd not even thought about it but I got a massive reaction when I turned up. One friend couldn't stop congratulating me and telling me how well I looked! She shouted across the court, "wow, look at you, how much have ou lost? 2 stone?!". I was so chuffed. She also offered me her size 12 clothes - that made me laugh. I'm 5'9-10". Size 12?! my bones aren't a size 12! Nice thought though :) Felt good playing badminton too, not out of breathe or tired one little bit, and we had courts for 90mins (with chat breaks though!).

To add to that, the wii fit this morning said I'd lost another 2lbs since last week (hopefully not muscle loss due to nearly 3 weeks on a bus on hols, but maybe :S ), so I'm now 4lbs off hitting the very very top end of the healthy bmi range :D

Next step - getting back on the exercise wagon after this stinking cold and getting back to walking with the group again.

Excellent stuff :) The comments are what keep us going sometimes... partly because most people don't want to mention weight loss... so when they do, it's obviously made an impact!

When you hit healthy BMI that will feel absolutely fabulous. Only 4 lbs to go, you can do it! You'll be there in a month or two! :)
