Weight Loss Limit

I've recently just reached some weight loss goals that I thought were unattainable, but seeing the numbers on the scale motivated me to loose more. Do you think there is a point where you cannot loose anymore weight? I'm thinking about setting some new short term goals but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. Any advise?

You hit a point where all you have left is bones and skin and your body starts digesting heart muscle and you eventually die of a heart attack, or organ failure from lack of oxygen. If you're five foot nothing then maybe go down to 8 1/4 stone but otherwise I'd probably call it quits at 8 3/4. Having said this, my stepdaughter is five foot 7 and she's sixty kilos (sorry, don't know the translation) and I wouldn't want her to get any skinnier. When I was 8 3/4 stone (i'm 5'51/2") I was pretty thin and I'm quite happy at 9 1/4.0 -

I'm five feet even
My sister was five feet four.
She often weighed 7 3/4 stone. That's (getting out online conversion) 108 pounds. That was as slim as I think I would ever want her to be, she wore size 10 clothes (new zealand) and looked like a model.
I was five foot five and a half and was 8 3/4 stone. That's 122 pounds. I was a size twelve/14 and considered myself fat in comparison however looking back I certainly was not. I was quite slender.
At five foot nothing I reckon you could maybe go down to 105 pounds? That's 7 1/2 stone. I would stop there though I think. Have you done a body mass index to see what that would mean?
Edit: and I wouldn't do it if it became too difficult. I think the slimmer you get the harder it is to lose those last pounds, and at my age now I don't think the effort I used to put in was worth it.0 -

I don't think it's about "can't" lose weight but you might reach a point where it doesn't look good or make you healthier to lose more. And it can be easy to get caught up in the process of losing weight and forget why you are doing this - presumably to look and feel good.
I tend to think that it's a good idea to give yourself some time at your goal weight so you can practice maintaining this weight.
Then once you are steady at that weight, have a look at yourself in the mirror, look at your BMI (unless you are really muscely, it's not a bad guide), ask a trusted friend, check with your doctor - then decide if you need to lose more.0
