Good morning fellow MFP pals, I am hoping you find my little story interesting and encouraging, are you sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin.......

Seven weeks ago and weighing 202lbs! I was invited by a special friend to attend a luxurious spar weekend break, that, was to enclude a ladies day at the races and a Tom Jones concert. I accepted and it was the kick start to my calorie counting, eating healthy and lots of swimming. At 202lbs My wardrobe was limited, size twenty polo shirts and jogging bottoms a plenty....

About two weeks into this plan of action I discovered this site, wow!!!! What a difference it made to me. You guys are such an inspiration and the tools here so usefull for staying on track.

Friday 12th of August I reached my goal of 20lbs lost for the event and my new clothes for the weekend were a size 16, I was over the moon. I now had to face three days of eating and drinking in the lap of luxury......How did I do??? You may well ask......I threw caution to the wind did not deny myself a thing. I drank and ate all that was presented to me!! Believe me it was beautiful mitchelin stars are not given lightly and this resturant had 2.

Sunday night on my return home I chanced a leap on the scales!!!!! Daft I know as I am a morning daily weigher 5 1/2 lbs heavier....WHOOPS! Very light healthy supper that night for me.

Any way as I have plans for more weight loss monday I began my usual routine of planning and calorie counting, I did avoid the scales yesterday. But this morning leapt on for a new starting weight....AND......Am actually only half a pound heavier then before I went away, how fantastic is that, I know how to lose weight now with mfp help and support and have proved to myself that one gourmet weekend of eating and drinking has not broken the weightloss bank completely.......I am straight back on track to lose the next 20lbs.

Thank you MFP and all you wonderful folks out there, good luck all of you xxxxx Cherry

PS if anyone wants to add me as friend feel free to message me and add me x

Brilliant! I'm doing 10lb challenges - or rather 5kg. 20lb challenges sound great too. It's so nice to have a beginning and an end to it all don't you think? And I gained something similar, was having a hard time in the first week getting down to 1200 cals a day and had a couple of days off, went up 300g. That's about 3/5 of a pound. But it has come off again!

I think this site is brilliant. I was on Weight Watchers for a while but it cost so much, and had so few foods in its database, this is much much better and free.

No, I'm not getting paid but if someone wants to give me a job selling this site I'd happily go for it. :D:D:D

I did the same last weekend Cherry, though it was by no means a gourmet weekend! It was fry ups, pizza and beer as I had a weekend in a B&B in Cardiff as I went to watch the rugby. Had added 6lb when i got on the scales on Sunday night, and have dropped 4lb since then. It's great to know you CAN have a splurge and get back to it again!

Keep up the good work! :-)

I had a similar story last week!

It was my wedding anniversary and on the Monday and Tuesday I ate 2500 cals one day, 3000 the next (waaaaay over my limit!). The following two days I had family around and still ate more than I do usually.

I didn't weigh myself the next day but on the Friday - my normal weigh in day I found that although I hadn't lost, but hadn't gained either- amazing!

I spent the next 4 days eating 1200 net calories and as healthily as possible plus loads of exercise, and guess what 4 days later I had LOST 2.3 lb.

It just goes to show that the damage is never permanent as long as you get back on it straight away. Before I would have blatantly just thrown in the towel and thought I had blown it.
