OK, it was only for about 75 yards, but I RAN - for the first time in over 15 years!
We went to the coast for the day, and of course, as soon as we'd got a fair distance from the car the heavens opened, and I mean it fell down!
We started a brisk walk back to the car, but I was getting saturated, so thought, oh well, let's try - and off I went! Hubby was so shocked he couldn't keep up with me!
Sadly, it didn't stop me from getting soaked through to my underwear, but who cares - my legs do still work - now I have to teach them to do it on a regular basis!
As big as I am, I've always tried to do 'normal ' things - I did the London to Brighton bike ride (58 miles), and last year I did the Race for Life - I walked it but still did 5k in 1hr 8mins, which I was very proud of. When I was raising my family of 4 kids I never gave myself any 'me' time, my lifestyle was rubbish and my diet suffered - now I know that I have to do it or I'm going to be one of those old ladies stuck in a wheelchair because she's too fat to walk anywhere, and I don't want to be a burden on my family.
Little steps, but I'm glad I'm taking them!

Everyone has to start somewhere! Don't diminish the significance of your run by saying, "Oh, it was only 75 yards." That's awesome! You had it in you, and you took advantage of whatever it was that was motivating you at the moment. That's a GIANT step in the right direction! Way to go!0
