all i drink is water but i have one problem. i am NEVER thirsty. i could go all day and only drink a half a glass of water. i know this is not good. i usually force myself to drink more but then i feel bloated and full. will not drinking enough harm my weight loss?

I am exactly the same. I'm pretty sure that I am chronicly dehydrated. I break my exercise up throughout the day and that seems to make me thirstier which is good, but I still forget to drink and find that by the end of the day I've only had 1 glass.

I also drink only water. Have you tried drinking hot water? I drink that quite a lot and its easier than cold sometimes.
  • Water is good for you!

It will help you to flush out your system. I think it helps with weight loss not to mention it is what keeps us going... Start small... Try drinking a glass before every meal you eat and drink one before you go to bed at night. If you have cues for drinking it you will start to incorporate it to your life.

I crave water... But then again I always have.

    Hey there!

I don't drink much besides water, either. I hate juices and I've quit drinking pop. Still, some days I have such a hard time hitting those eight glasses.

I used to hate any sort of flavoured water, but since I started adding lemon to my water, I find that I am able to drink more. I'm not sure why, but if it works I won't knock it! It has been suggested that lemon aids digestion - maybe that will help you with the bloated feeling (the full feeling is good, it means that you are hydrated!)

Be careful though - a friend of mine has the reverse effect. When she adds lemon to water she gets incredible headaches.

I carry around a litre-sized (4 cups) reusable bottle with me. If I don't have to fill it up as often, I find that it's easier to track...1 of 2 bottles down, 2 of 2 bottles down and done!

    Best of luck!

I also have a 32 oz (almost a liter) bottle with me at all times. It really helps me to stay on track. I drink 4-5 of those a day.

I buy one of those huge 1.5 liter bottles of Poland Spring in the morning and keep it on my desk. I try to drink at least half before lunch time. I won't leave the office until it's all done. So if that means binging on water for 15 minutes, that's what I'll do lol. The lemon is a good idea. You could also mix in a packet of Truvia to give it a lemonade taste.

IDK what it will do for weight loss, but unless you are eating HUGE amounts of foods with a high water content like watermelon, only drinking half a glass of water a day will strain your kidneys. Your body needs water to function. You don't have to get it from plain water in a glass, but you do need to get it.

I thought that I would add that sometimes a lack of salts stops us from being thirsty. Usually potassium, magnesium and sodium sometimes stops thirst if you don't have enough in your system- I take these when I'm not thirsty and it does help - but most of the time I force myself to drink. Its annoying because sometimes I forget and thats when my water intake is really low, especially when I'm stressed out.

If you are not thirsty (and also not dehydrated, which is important to keep track of), why drink? Feeling bloated after drinking is not a good sign at all. I get a good amount of my fluid from eating as i consume a lot of fruit and vegetables. You don't actually require '8 glasses of water' every day, contrary to popular opinion. Also, try drinking different types of drink, like tea for example.
